To celebrate Valentine’s Day this year, the Gucci team showed their creative ability beyond the couture cutting rooms, telling the story of two unlikely lovers. Well titled, A love story presented by Guccithe Italian fashion house collaborated with the Los Angeles-based artist Ariana Papademetropoulos on a limited edition zine, which features a surreal world of giants and fairies bound by love.
Featured throughout the zine is Gucci Valentine’s Day 2022 collection, which offers customers the opportunity to tell their own love story through the house of love. Designed by Gucci Creative Director Alessandro Michele, the collection offers something for everyone, from jewelry and watches to instantly recognizable belts, bags and more. If you haven’t yet received a token of appreciation for your partner, a Gucci gift has never made so much sense thanks to the diversity of Michele’s collection.
Available in digital and print editions, the zine is a showcase not only of Gucci’s coveted collections, but also of the strength of its creative campaigns and visual identity. Gucci’s new zine features the story of a little fairy, played by Papademetropoulos herself, looking for a lover who shares her small stature and the adventures her quest takes.

The love story is told in a low-tech graphic novel format, presented in a series of image collages inspired by 60s surreal, pop style. Glamorous, dramatic and even a little kitschy, the heavily stylized imagery celebrates Gucci’s instantly recognizable aesthetic and inspires an imaginary nostalgia for decades past.
While much of Gucci’s creative energies are focused on the real world, whether it’s returning to the office after WFH or the recent collaboration with everyone’s favorite locomotive enthusiast, Gucci offers a lens of fantasy and of desire on this Valentine’s Day. This surreal and supernatural landscape corresponds to the artistic interests of Ariana Papademetropoulos, well known for her exploration of mysticism and the occult.

To create A love story presented by Guccithe luxury house founded in Florence has also called on photographer Alexandra Cabral and set designer Grace Surnow, working to bring Papademetropoulos’ vision of life. So while the charming fable tells the enchanted story of two unlikely lovers, Gucci Valentine’s Day 2022 is a chance to create your own romantic tale with the special someone in your life.
