Balenciaga’s Fall 2022 fashion show was one of the history books on Wednesday, with not one but several A-Listers making their couture runway debut.
Billionaire reality star Kim Kardashian walked the runway in a sculpted black dress as her daughter North West and mother Kris Jenner sat front row for her runway debut.
The SKIMS founder, 41, has been promoting the brand for some time – including her 2021 Met Gala outfit which covered her head to toe and received polarizing reviews – alongside her ex-partner Kanye West.
Kardashian’s eldest daughter North was seen alongside her throughout Paris Fashion Week in high-tension outfits, including sitting front row with Anna Wintour at the Jean-Paul Gaultier Haute Couture Fall Winter 2022/2023 show .
Australian sweetheart Nicole Kidman was the next to surprise the audience, as she donned a one-shoulder silver dress with dramatic black opera gloves.
The Oscar-winning actress was seen sharing a passionate kiss with husband Keith Urban before the show started.
But the celebrity appearances didn’t stop there; with pop megastar Dua Lipa, models Naomi Camobell and Bella Hadid, and Selling Sunset star Christine Quinn joining the host of stars on the catwalk.
The Levitating singer wore a one-shoulder canary yellow mini dress with a dramatic train, alongside Campbell in a large, voluminous dress.
The collection marked creative director Demna’s second show for the luxury fashion house, which is known for delving into the world of celebrities to build hype for the brand and harness their influence.
Justin Bieber and Cardi B have previously featured in campaigns for the fashion house, which was named the world’s hottest fashion brand by Lyst in 2021 and remains number one with Gucci a close second.
“Balenciaga dressing all these celebrities for their show is another moment for the brand to prove that they really are the ones who call the shots,” Vogue said.
“It seems like being inducted into the Balenciaga club is the ultimate marker of cool in our current fashion era, whether you’re a celebrity or not – and that’s priceless.”
